How to Measure your Head for Size

To determine your head size, start with a flexible tape measure at the center of your forehead above your eyebrows. Run the tape around the head, over the bump at the back (noggin) and around the meet the tape in front. Do this 2 or 3 times to be accurate. This will give you the widest measurement and your head size. Average head size is 22 1/2". Hats sold in stores are generally this size. If you have had difficulty finding a hat to fit, this may be the reason.

Square Oblong
Narrow your face with asymmetrical brim and stunning crown. Slant brim or tilt hat to soften square edges. Add earrings. Full brims for you. Look for trim that lifts the eye or brim that sweeps sides or back. Avoid tall, narrow shapes. Hat should bring balance to shoulders.
Triangular Heart
A hat with a short, uneven brim and lofty crown. Also, a rolled or upswept brim worn straight across the brow. No pointed crowns or sharp angles. A hat draw attention upwards. Wear a small hat high on your head or something with eye-catching trim. Avoid large, heavy shapes.
