BEHAVIOUR & CONDUCT

The Master National adheres to the CKC Rules and Regulations regarding all conduct and behaviour on the grounds. Additionally:

  1. After a series has been officially set up by the judges, no dog on the grounds and still in competition shall leave the area of the series until it has been tested and excused by the Marshal, unless otherwise excused by the Master National Committee.  Further, during the running of the stake no competing dog shall, while on the grounds, be exercised, trained or worked with the exception of a bumper thrown by the handler and this only in an especially approved area and only for the purpose of exercising the dog.
  2. Any dog not entered in the stake and interfering with the running of the stake will be removed.
  3. Exercise areas will be clearly defined.
  4. Dogs not appearing on line when called will be given 15 minutes to do so. 
  5. Rotation of starting dog will be used as directed by the Marshall.
  6. No person participating in any capacity in the Master National shall be subject to an indignity of any kind. An officially appointed Discipline Committee will investigate any concerns.  

Additionally the CKC requires the following:

It shall be the duty and obligation of the event giving club to see that a judge, club official, volunteer, or any participant at a hunt test held under these regulations, is not subject to any indignities. The Hunt Test Committee Chair shall promptly report to the CKC any infringement of this regulation, and the Discipline Committee shall have the authority to take such action as it deems fit on receipt of a report indicating that this has occurred. A copy of this regulation shall be prominently placed in every premium list and catalogue

 

ENTRY

Entry limited to 75 dogs. The entry fee is $200.00. Please make all cheques and money orders payable to the 2007 Master National. Entries close Friday, September 7, 2007 at 7pm EST after which no entries will be accepted.  A listing fee of $8.50 per dog is required for a dog for which an individual CKC registration or ERN number is not shown. Telephone entries will not be accepted. On line entries will be accepted at www.canadianmasternational.ca. Please forward your completed entry form and payment to:

Bitches in season may not compete and must be withdrawn.  Entry fees will be refunded provided that notice in writing is given to the Master National Secretary before Monday, Sept. 17,2007. Vetting of bitches will take place at Headquarters  on Sunday afternoon, September 16th. Entry fees paid for any dog withdrawn because of an injury, illness or death shall be refunded in full subject to veterinary certificate.

QUALIFICATIONS

    Entry is limited to the following:

    • Dogs with a CKC Master Hunter title that have received 2 qualifying scores* in CKC Master Hunt tests from September 5, 2006 until September 4, 2007
      or
    • All dogs with a CKC Grand Master Hunter title .

    *Note that the 2 qualifying scores may count towards the Master Hunt title.

AWARD

    All dogs receiving a qualifying score will receive a duck band, rosette and the title of  National Master Hunter and shall be entitled to add the NMH prefix to the registered name

START TIME

    The Opening Banquet will take place at 6:00 pm on Sunday, September 16th at the Masonic Hall in Brighton, Ontario. Please include the $25 fee per person with your entry. Further information regarding the conduct of the stake will be given there.

CLOTHING

    All Handlers, observers and workers must wear dark or camouflage clothing

GAME

    Ducks and\or pheasants will be used in all stakes.

UPLAND TEST

    The upland test requires the flushing of game birds.  The flushed game birds will be shot with live ammunition and retrieved.  Competitors must wear hunter orange.

From East: Exit #509 on Hwy 401 - go straight through at stop sign. Turn left at next stop sign onto County Rd. 26. Go north about 2 km to Long Reach Road. Turn Right and go to end of road to Gahonk Kennels. Watch for signs.
