Mission / Intentions :

Skimchick is all about action, better yet, chicks in action. More and more women participate in extreme sports these days and skimboarding can certainly be considered, extreme. Skimming takes a lot of skill and some serious determination. There is no quitting half way- it is all or nothing. Your bound to find sand in every spot imaginable and you may experience some twisted ankles and tweaked joints, but it ís so worth it. Skimchick is dedicated to providing information for parties whom have interest in contest info, statistics, tides, water temperatures, music, photos, articles and interviews with chicks who rip. Skimchick goods are available, and there is more to come. Have anything you want to contribute, contact Skimchick.

What is skimboarding / How to learn ?

Skimboarding is a sport in which the participant throws a wooden or fiberglass board onto the beach where the water meets the sand in perfect timing to slide out to a wave, breaking close or right onto the shore. Once you can learn the timing and balance of skimming, you are ready to smack the lip of a wave, or pull in, and get barreled. When first learning, it helps to practice your balance on dry sand or going sideways on the wet sand versus going straight out towards a wave.

TIP: Always warm up and stretch good. If you don't, you'll feel it tomorrow.
