ELIGIBILITY


Students interested in pursuing MBA at the Centre for Management Studies can apply for admission provided they are graduates in any discipline from a recognized university in India, and have secured a valid rank from CAT/MAT/XAT/JEE or any other recognized national entrance test.

CENTRE FOR MANAGEMENT STUDIES

Centre for Management Studies (CMS) has been set up by Nabajyoti Charitable Trust in 2001 with an aim to impart quality management education. The institute has been approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Ministry of HRD, Government of India and Department of Higher Education, Government of Orissa to impart two-year full time MBA program. CMS is affiliated to Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT), Orissa.  As per BPUT syllabi, it provides two-year full time MBA with specialization in Marketing Management, Financial Management, Human Resource Management, Production and Operation Management, Travel and Tourism Management, System and IT and Strategic Management. CMS is a life member of Association of Indian Management Schools (AIMS), and Orissa Management Colleges Association (OMCA).

 

The Institute is located in the serene atmosphere of Nijigarh Kurki, near Harirajpur, 13 kms from the Biju Patnaik Airport and it is spread over 5 acres of land.  The institute is housed in a 20,000 sq.ft. building, equipped with all modern facilities for education and training.

 

Besides imparting education, CMS has also established partnership with international organizations to implement research and action programs. It has successfully completed (2004-2006) one European Union (EU) assisted project on Capacity Building of Small and Medium Enterprises and Facilitation of Business Development Collaboration between EU-India. In 2007 CMS received World Bank Second India Development Market-Place (IDM) 2007 Award for an innovative project on Capacity Building of Rural Women Enterprises on Production and Marketing of Cashew Apple Juice. It may be mentioned here that the IIM, Ahemedabad has won the first IDM Award for a project on Harvesting Dew, CMS is the second awardee. CMS is also looking forward to implement a project of British Council to develop a new course on Gender Equity and Women Empowerment in partnership with Academic Enterprise, Salford University, UK and Business Link Midjutland, Denmark.

  • CMS Scholarships: 10 scholarships are awarded each year on merit basis.

  • Study Loans: The institute facilitates the students in getting study loans from the nationalized banks.

  • Library: The library has adequate number of books including latest publications in the field of Marketing, HR, Finance, Operations, Systems, etc. and a good member of journals.

  • Computer Lab.: The computer lab is fully equipped with required software and high-speed internet connectivity and competent faculty members.

  • Transport: Transport facility is provided to the students from the city to the campus on fixed routes.

  • Hostel: Hostel facility is available for girl students at the city.

  • Medical: Rajalaxmi Memorial Hospital, located within the campus, meets emergency health care needs of students.

Student Achievements

 

The MBA program under BPUT follows a Grading System of evaluation. A Seven Point grading system on a base of 10 shall be followed in the University.
