PAST EVENTS

               The past year was very eventful for CMS. By February 2006, CMS successfully concluded a one-year European Union (EU) funded project, Capacity Building of Small and Medium Enterprises and Facilitation of Business Collaboration between EU-India. The project aimed at improving the organizational skill and networking capacity of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Orissa (India) through a series of need-salient training events and workshops, followed up dissemination of information on policy, import-export strategies and legal guidelines, technology, management, best practices, quality control and collaborative prospects between EU-India. The principal of CMS, also as the Project Director, led a delegation of 10 SMEs from Orissa to Denmark, Belgium and the Netherlands. CMS was adjudged as the most-timely completed project partner. 

               Last year our 1^st year students with two faculty members went on an industrial tour and visited the Hindustan Construction Company Limited (HCCL) situated in Jajpur on 12^th April 2006. HCCL deals with construction of hydroelectric projects, dams, bridges, roads and pipelines. 

           And our 2^nd year students went for an Exposure Trip to Delhi, Chandigarh and Ludhiana, organized during December 2006. They visited the leading organizations like Lee Couper and Hero Cycles.

              These trips provided the students practical insight into the work culture, production, planning, control, material handling, inventory management and quality control of the leading organizations.

              Our students also participated in All Orissa Business School Meet – Romanthan-2007 organized by DRIEMS B-School on 16^th January 2007.

              Students of both 1^st and 2^nd year participated in 3^rd BPUT Annual Inter College Sports and Cultural Meet – Techno Fest 2007 during 5^th to 8^th February 2007. They participated in different events like Cricket, Athletics – 100m run, 200m run, long jump and short put.

             The Annual day of CMS was celebrated on 10^th March 2007 at Hotel Swosti Bhubaneswar. On the eve of the Annual Day, a few interesting events were organized for the students and champions and runners-up were adjudged. They were awarded on the annual day.
