The Reiter League Cup

As a member of the Renaissance Wargame Society, you are eligible to win the prestigious Reiter Cup. The award is given to the member with the best win/loss record for that year. You simply send to the cup coordinator the results of your Renaissance wargame. This can be a land, naval, or siege wargame.

Rules for the 2005 Reiter National League

Scoring:
Results are classed win, loss, or draw. A win scores Four points, a loss Zero, and a draw Two. A player who plays more than five games will have One point added to his result score. So on the sixth game a win scores 5, a loss 1, and a draw 3. Since the league was originally set up to encourage the playing of Renaissance games, this scoring method should reflect that principal.

awardreitercup How to Participate:
Any member of the Renaissance Wargame Society is eligible, indeed encouraged, to participate in this competition. Simply send your results to the league coordinator and have them reported in national and regional ladders. Games against non-society opponents can also be counted but the scores are halved: win scores Two points, a loss Zero and a draw One.

Frequently Asked Questions:
Have a question about the league?
Contact the coordinator and it answered directly as well as recorded here.

Q:Do tournament games count toward the Reiter Standings?
A:Yes, if both players are members of the Renaissance Wargame Society and they haven't already had 3 counting games this year.

Q:Do team games count, and how are they ranked?
A:Each team member will earn the points associated with a win, loss, or draw.

Q:Do team games count toward the 3 game limit per rule set?
A:Not to individual members. But each team may only play another team 3 times per rule set.

Q:Are play by email (pbem) games count for league play?
A:Yes, although the normal rules, outlined above, do apply.

Q:Are games like DBA and DBR considered the same or different rules?
A:There has been some controversy over this issue, here's the simplest explanation. DBA & DBR will be considered different rules. While DBR Condensed and Normal scales would be considered the same.

Q:Shouldn't members earn points for running events at conventions?
A:All of us certainly appreciate the efforts involved in running events and tournaments at conventions. Unfortunately, the organizers for such events will earn no league points. League play is designed to rank those players actually involved in the playing of Renaissance games, to award points for the organization of events would complicate a process that is better left simplified. However, we are looking into a special award for those society members running events at conventions.
